This month’s Meet the Board features the 2011-2012 NCPMA Vice President Mitch Taylor of Capital Pest Services in Raleigh.
What led you to pursue a career in pest management?
I was always involved in the industry on some level as I am a second generation pmp. I am able to apply my business degree, so it has worked out well. Plus, I have always wanted to be my own boss.
Why should pest management professionals be involved with the NCPMA?
Involvement with NCPMA is critical because it allows pmp’s to share ideas on field and legal issues. It also helps regulate the quality of companies that perform pest control services. It is a great way to increase your knowledge of the industry and stay up-to-date on the latest topics
In your opinion, what is the biggest pest problem that North Carolinians face today?
The biggest pest problems we are facing today are ants, ants, ants. Oh yeah, and bed bugs!
What do you enjoy most about your job in the pest management industry?
The thing I enjoy most about the industry is leaving a customer’s house and knowing they have the feeling that they are being protected against whatever pest we were there to take care of. It feels good to know you are helping someone achieve peace of mind when dealing with their home.
